Fabric Overview

Fabric is an innovative open-source framework designed to augment human capabilities using Artificial Intelligence. Its fundamental mission is to empower individuals by providing a structured and modular system for integrating AI solutions into everyday life and work.

The Problem: AI Integration

Since the rapid advancements in AI began in late 2022, countless applications have emerged to accomplish various tasks. While these tools are powerful, a significant challenge remains: integrating their functionality seamlessly into human workflows and personal lives. Fabric addresses this by shifting the focus from individual AI applications to the fundamental units of AI capability: the prompts themselves.

Core Philosophy: Patterns for Human Augmentation

Fabric's core philosophy centers on two key ideas:

1. Breaking problems into components: Complex challenges are broken down into smaller, manageable pieces, allowing AI to be applied precisely where it's most effective.
2. Organizing prompts as "Patterns": Instead of managing a multitude of disparate prompts, Fabric provides a system for collecting, creating, and organizing AI prompts (called "Patterns") by real-world tasks. This approach simplifies discovery, management, and versioning of AI solutions.

These Patterns are crafted using Markdown for maximum readability and clarity, often focusing on the system message to guide the AI effectively.
